The Division Workout - Division Facts Practice

The Division Workout - Division Facts Practice

Welcome to the Division Workout - our free and fun division facts practice activity.

We want to show how effective a little extra division practice at home can be, and to help parents support maths learning - we know what a difference this support can make to our children's learning outcomes.

The Division Workout is a three step activity that will help children towards achieving instant recall of division facts and truly mastering this important foundation maths skill.

Division is the natural complement to multiplication skills, so it's designed for children who are becoming confident with their tables and have already started to learn about dividing.

Plus, there's a certificate for each child who completes the challenge!

Child ready? Let's begin!

STEP 1 - prepare the mind In division you must always be fair.Dividing numbers isn't as difficult as you think - in fact, you could almost think of it as just multiplying in reverse. Watch the video to find out:

So you can see it's not as tricky as you might think - you probably already know how to do it!

STEP 2 - do the practice

Practice times tables in order to learn them.

The practice grid will help you get ready for the Division Workout. Use it as many times as you like, until you can complete each one correctly and quickly!

Why is speed important? When you've really mastered your division facts you'll be able to answer very quickly getting them right all the time. Once you've done this you'll know them for the rest of your life!
